Máh-roc was founded in 2016 to create awareness in upcycled fashion and sustainable clothing. For more than 2 years, leftover and unwanted garments were collected from all around the world. Then all these different materials come together gathered at our atelier in Balat / Istanbul to be born again from their ashes for a second life.
We are mainly influenced by Baloch Tribe that are living in Afghan soil as nomads who travel all the time and have a very mysterious past. Our products resemble Baloch people’s lifestyle, in a sense that they are individually unique so it is not possible to reproduce the same design, as the tribe journeys across different lands. The word mah-roc means, the moon and the sun in Baloch language.
